Systematic or excessive downloading

Systematic or excessive downloading is defined as, but not limited to, a deliberate attempt to copy or distribute a whole or significant part of an electronic resource using robots, agents, automated programs, or any manual means. This may result in the loss of access to e-resources for the entire HA community.

Examples of systematic or excessive downloading:

  • Rapidly downloading one article after another within a single session
  • Downloading entire issues or volumes of an e-journal
  • Downloading the entire contents of an e-book or multimedia resource
